This week’s Speedo Tip of the Week comes from Alan Bayne of the Beulah Stingrays in Richmond, Va. Bayne offers some advice on making the butterfly faster and more efficient.
Bayne’s Tip:
Most swimmers, when they swim fly, tend to go more up out of the water than forward. Swimmers should focus on staying low on the water and pressing forward and down with their chest. You waste a lot of time when you go too high on the water, because you’re using your stroke to push yourself up instead of forward. I have pointed this out to many swimmers on our team, and their times have improved dramatically. |
