Purpose


  • The Corpse kick is a novel way to practice your kick technique and add some variation to your training
  • It’s a great way to learn to keep your core engaged and use your abdominal muscles
  • It helps you improve rotation without using your arms
  • It trains you to rotate the whole body in line as you kick
Key Points


  • With fins, kick in on your front, with your arms relaxed by your side at all times
  • Rotate into kicking on your side for a few kicks
  • When you need a breath rotate your head to take a breath, then return your face to the water as you exhale
  • Complete a few kicks while still on your side then rotate back onto your front
  • Repeat on alternate sides
Progression into full stroke


  • Transition straight into freestyle immediately after performing this drill

      我认为,游泳嘛,必须先平衡,在保持平衡的同时加力才能加速。
      你一用力,平衡没了,还能有速度吗?力气全浪费了。
      但换气的时候身体姿态变了,平衡会被打破,这时候需要一定的速度来保持平衡,然后快速换气。
      所以初学者一般都有换气下沉的问题,原因是
      一平衡没有掌握好、二换气时间太长、三由于平衡不好导致速度不够。
