Improving Water Confidence In Early Learners (3-5 Years)
Help your child to gain confidence in the water, which in turn will give them the necessary skills to begin learning how to swim. Great for children aged between 3-5 years.
Step 1: Practise 1
Have your child sitting on the ledge or the step of a pool they can stand in. Now get them to kick their legs at first with big kicks then with more gentle kicks and less splash. This gets them practising how their legs may move during a real swimming stroke.
Step 2: Practise 2
Next, let them get in the pool and practice walking around the pool on their hands with their bodies in the water. This is an especially good idea if they are not used to having their whole bodies in the water.
Step 3: Practise 3
If your child is confident, introduce a noodle. With the noodle around them get them to move across the pool with strong kicking actions. Congratulate them! Because this is the very start of their very first basic strokes.
Regular practise will build up your child's confidence and have them learning strokes in no time.
