触壁前呼出所有的空气是很重要的,这样转身时就可以快速吸进一口气。一转回身,脚离开墙,立即开始打海豚腿,转身后就可以获得最快的速度,并为出水划臂制造动力。Michael的出水划臂动作刚好在水面完成,当他第一次移臂时,身体的线条几乎与水面平行。这一技术把迎面阻力减为最小,最大限度地把(转身阶段的)能量转换到了比赛中的游泳阶段。
